How do I change my username?

You can change your Playout username in the app’s settings. Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right, open Settings and tap Change username. If you haven’t set a name yet, the button says Choose username, and you get a one-time coin reward for picking one.

Step by step

1. Tap the three dots (⋮) at the top right of the Home tab.
2. Open Settings.
3. Tap Change username (or Choose username).
4. Type a new name, or tap Suggest a name for an idea.
5. Wait for the check. “… is free” means it’s yours to use.
6. Tap Save.

Username rules

• 3 to 20 characters
• letters, numbers and underscores only
• a name nobody else is using

If a name is already taken, the app lets you know right away, and Suggest a name can help you find a fresh one.

What your username is for

• How you show up in Playout, for example on your profile.
• How friends find you. Others add you to their friendlist by your name. See friends and gifts.
• Your invite code. When friends join Playout, they enter your username as the code. See inviting friends.
