The block puzzle is one of the most loved mobile games there is: drag a shape onto the grid, fill a row, watch it clear. It’s easy to learn and hard to put down. With Playout, block puzzle games pay real rewards as well. Every level you finish earns coins, and those coins become PayPal cash or gift cards.

What a block puzzle is

A block puzzle gives you a grid and a small hand of pieces in different shapes. You place them one by one, and whenever a full row or column forms, it clears and frees up space. The art is keeping room open for whatever shape comes next, because a board with no space left ends the run.

Classic block puzzles are endless and chase a high score. The block puzzles on the Playout shelf add a goal to every level, which gives each session a clear finish line and a reason to plan.

Why block puzzles are great for earning

Playout pays for every finished level, so a block puzzle with level goals is a perfect fit:

  • A clear finish. Reach the goal and the level is done, coins included.
  • Planning over speed. Think through each placement at your own pace.
  • Instantly familiar. If you’ve played any block game, you already know the basic move.
  • Short levels. A few levels fit into the smallest break.

Block Bus!: clear lines, fill the buses

Block Bus! is made by Loyalty Gaming, the studio behind Playout’s own games. The rules start out familiar: drag pieces onto the grid and clear full rows and columns. Pieces can’t be rotated, so every shape goes down exactly as it comes.

Block Bus!: clear the waiting bus's color to fill it.

The bus is what gives each level a destination. A bus waits at the stop in one color. When you clear a line, the blocks of that color become passengers who walk over and board. Once the bus is full it drives off and the next one pulls in, often in a different color. Send off every bus in the queue and the level is done.

There’s no timer, so you can study the board for as long as you need. A handy habit: if the next bus’s color is already visible, save that color for when it arrives.

Domino Blast: chain reactions on an 8x8 board

Domino Blast, also by Loyalty Gaming, plays on an 8x8 board with pieces you drag from a tray. Some cells hold standing dominoes, each with an arrow, and they count as filled cells, so they help you complete lines.

Domino Blast: one line can topple a whole chain.

Complete a line with a domino in it and the domino tips over, rushing in the direction of its arrow, smashing every block in its path and knocking over the next domino it reaches. Chains can turn corners, and fallen dominoes lie down as gold planks that can complete even more lines. Rainbow dominoes tip in every direction at once.

Each level has a goal, such as freeing every domino or smashing a set number of blocks. As you progress, ice blocks, bombs, stone walls and boss levels join in, and the world gets a fresh look every 40 levels. It plays offline, too.

How to earn with block puzzles on Playout

  1. Install Playout from Google Play. There’s no sign-up form; your account is tied to your phone.
  2. Install Block Bus! or Domino Blast from the shelf. That links your levels to your account. Both are Playout’s own games, so your levels are counted directly.
  3. Finish levels. Each one adds coins to your counter.
  4. Coins convert every four hours into real money in your balance, which keeps stacking.
  5. Cash out from a low minimum, set per currency and shown in the app, as PayPal cash or a gift card such as Amazon. It usually arrives within minutes.

Earn a little more

  • Alternate the two games. In the weekly Live Event, the first item on each game takes fewer levels than the next one on the same game, and Block Bus! and Domino Blast are two very different takes on the same idea.
  • Lock in your streak. Finish 5 levels a day in any game for your daily streak; each streak day permanently raises your coin boost.
  • Bring a friend. Your username is your invite code, and a friend who joins with it starts with 2x earnings for 48 hours. See inviting friends.

What to expect

Block puzzle games that pay through Playout are a fun bonus for time you’d spend clearing lines anyway, not a second income. Your balance grows with how much and how regularly you play. For more colorful planning games, see sort puzzle games that pay.

Block Bus! has no timer, so you can take as long as you like over each placement. Domino Blast is also all about planning, with a clear goal on every level.
Can I rotate the pieces?
In Block Bus!, pieces go down exactly as they come, which is what makes planning your space so important.
