How Bolt Out plays

A bolt of that color flies into its crate; three bolts fill a crate, the crate is packed, and the next color slides in. A bolt that has no matching crate waits on the tray, which has five spaces. When a crate of its color opens, it hops over on its own.

The plates are the other half of the puzzle. A plate hangs on as long as any of its bolts is still in. Pull the last one and it falls away, uncovering whatever was underneath. That cascade is the best moment in the game, and setting it up is the skill: free the bolts that open the most of the board while keeping the tray clear. Pull every bolt and the board is done. New ideas arrive as you climb. Glass plates let you see bolts but not reach them, rusted bolts take two taps, mystery bolts hide their color until you pull them, locked bolts open once you’ve packed enough crates, and magnet bolts bring their color out with them.
