You already spend that ride looking at your phone. With Playout, you can earn money on your commute while you do it. Open a free casual game from the Playout shelf, finish a few short levels between stops, and every one adds coins that turn into PayPal cash or gift cards. By the time you reach the office, your coins have moved forward, and on the way home they move again.

Why your commute is a great time to earn money

Commutes come in small, predictable pieces, and so do Playout’s games. Most levels are short, many take under a minute, and the next one starts right away. You can finish a handful before your stop, put the phone away and pick up again on the ride home.

Playout counts every level you finish in a game you installed from its list. Every 4 hours it converts the coins you collected into real money and banks it to your balance. Your balance only grows, so a short ride still adds to it. Keep mobile data on while you play so your levels are counted as you go.

The best games for the bus and train

  • Crown Crush is the commuter’s game. One thumb, a spinning tower and short levels: press and hold to smash through the plates, release when a dark segment comes around. A single stop is enough for a few levels.
  • Hexa Pop and Candy Cannon Sort finish most levels in under a minute, ideal for the stretch between two stations.
  • Jelly Jam is all taps: send jelly cars out of a packed lot and let the jelly trucks plow whole lanes.
  • Tile Tap! is a gentle wind-down for the ride home, cleared one tap at a time.

Plan your ride: morning streak, evening event

Use the two halves of your commute for different things.

On the way in, lock in your streak. Finish 5 levels in any game and “Today’s streak locked in!” appears. Every streak day raises a permanent coin boost on everything you earn, so getting it done before work makes the rest of the day more rewarding. See the daily streak.

On the way home, chase the extras. Open the Challenges tab and pick off a daily challenge or two for tickets toward a dice roll. Or work on the weekly Live Event: each game on the board earns you an item after a set number of levels, and the first item on a new game comes quickest, so switching games between stops is a smart move.

On a longer ride, try the Arcade tab. It opens after you finish the shown number of levels that day, then gives you a short skill game like Tower, Pin or Ring. Reach the day’s goal and you win the prize shown, and every run pays coins along the way. See the Arcade.

Collect your passive coins at the station

While you’re between trains, open the Passive tab. Your Monnies fill a coin vault even while the app is closed, so there’s often something waiting. Wake any sleepy ones and tap Collect, and the vault starts filling again for the next leg. See Monnies and the vault.

Cash out between stops

When your balance reaches the minimum, tap it on the Home tab. Choose PayPal and enter your email twice, or pick a gift card such as Google Play or Amazon. The reward email usually arrives within minutes.

Playout is a fun bonus for a ride you take anyway. Install it tonight, add a couple of games, and let tomorrow’s commute start earning.

Questions people ask

Can I really earn money on my commute?
Yes. Playout rewards you for every level you finish in games from its list. Short levels fit between stops, and every 4 hours your coins turn into real money you can cash out to PayPal or as a gift card.
Do I need an internet connection on the train?
Keep mobile data on while you play so your finished levels are counted. Allowing notifications also lets you hear about rewards and payouts the moment they’re ready.
Which games work best standing up?
Crown Crush is played with one thumb: press and hold to smash, release to wait. Tap-based games like Jelly Jam and Tile Tap! are easy one-handed too.
How long do I need to play each day?
As long as your ride. The daily streak only asks for 5 finished levels in any game, and anything more adds coins on top.
How much can I earn on my commute?
It grows with how much you play and the bonuses you collect. Think of it as a fun bonus for a ride you take anyway, not a second income.
