Earn money as a student by playing games
As a student you can earn money in the gaps of your day: install Playout for free, play short casual games between lectures, and turn the coins you collect into PayPal cash or gift cards.
How it works, in three steps
Install it for free
Get Playout from Google Play. No sign-up form and no student email needed: your account is tied to your phone.
Play between lectures
Finish a few quick levels on a break, in the cafeteria line or after a study session. Every level adds coins.
Cash out when you like
Coins become money every 4 hours. Send your balance to PayPal or pick a gift card once you reach the low minimum.
No upfront cost
No fee, no subscription, nothing to buy. The app and every game on the shelf are free.
Fits between lectures
Many levels take under a minute, so a ten-minute break is plenty.
A real study break
Logic and tile puzzles give your brain a change of pace before the next chapter.
Bring your classmates
Your username is your invite code. Friends start with 2× earnings for 48 hours.
Rewards consistency
Five levels a day grows a streak boost that stays with you, even in exam week.
Cash or app credit
PayPal cash for anything, or a gift card like Amazon or Google Play.
Student life is full of small gaps: the wait before a lecture, the walk across campus, the five minutes you promised yourself after finishing a chapter. Playout lets you earn money as a student in exactly those moments. You play free casual games on your Android phone, every level you finish adds coins, and the coins become PayPal cash or gift cards. There’s nothing to pay, nothing to sign up for, and no schedule to keep.
Why it’s an easy way to earn money as a student
Most ways to earn on the side ask for a fixed shift or some money up front. Playout asks for neither. The app is free, the games are free, and there is no premium tier to unlock. You don’t even need an email address to get started, because your account is tied to your phone.
It also bends around your timetable. Some weeks you’ll play a lot, others just the five levels that keep your streak going. Your balance only grows, so nothing slips away during a busy week. Every 4 hours Playout converts your coins into real money, and the balance keeps stacking until you’re ready to cash out.

Games that fit a student’s day
- Five-minute break: Hexa Pop and Candy Cannon Sort have most levels done in under a minute, so you can finish a handful before the lecture starts.
- Waiting in line at the cafeteria: Crown Crush is played with one thumb, press and hold to smash, release to wait.
- Study break for your brain: Mines & Meows is a logic puzzle where careful reasoning beats guessing, and Mahjong Smart is calm, with no timers.
- Late-night wind-down: Tile Tap! is the most laid-back game on the shelf, cleared one tap at a time.
Build a habit that pays
The daily streak is made for students. Finish 5 levels in any game each day and your streak goes up. Every streak day raises a coin boost that multiplies everything you earn, and the boost is tied to your best streak, so it stays even if the day count restarts. A streak freeze can cover a missed day, too. See the daily streak.
Your playtime can follow the semester. In exam week, five levels make a nice reward between revision sessions. In the holidays, play more and work on the weekly Live Event, where finishing levels across different games collects items toward a share of the prize pool.
On top of that, the Challenges tab hands out a fresh set of level goals every day. Finish them for tickets, and a full set unlocks a dice roll for bonus coins.
Earn together with classmates
Playout gets better with friends. Your username is your invite code: share it from the Invite friends page, and as your friends play, the Friend Pass unlocks rewards for you step by step, such as boosts, a streak shield and a booster pack. Add each other on the friendlist and you can send one free gift per friend every day. The Arcade’s daily skill game even lets you share your score and challenge a friend to beat it.
What your rewards can cover
When your balance reaches the minimum, tap it on the Home tab. PayPal cash works for anything, from a coffee before class to the next shared pizza. A Google Play gift card covers apps and games, and an Amazon gift card goes toward whatever is on your list. The reward email usually arrives within minutes.
Treat it as a fun bonus for time you’d spend on your phone anyway, not a student job. Install Playout, play through your next break, and watch your first coins turn into money.
